5 Ways to Grow on Instagram with Reels

If you've ever felt like your Instagram is stuck—even though you're showing up, posting consistently, and doing “all the things”—you’re not alone.

When I started, I didn’t have a huge following or crazy reach. I had strategy, intention, and content that actually spoke to my audience.
And that’s what helped me grow to 11.5K followers in just under 6 months.

No dancing. No hacks. Just smart strategy.

Let me break down exactly how I did it, and how you can grow too—especially if you're a salon, medspa, personal brand, content creator that wants to attract real clients, not just random views.

✦ 1. I Focused on Reels that Convert—Not Just Go Viral

Reels are still one of the fastest ways to grow—but only if you're using them strategically.

Most people post trending sounds and hope for the best. I used short, value-driven Reels to actually build authority and bring in aligned followers.

What worked:

  • 5–8 second videos

  • Clean, scroll-stopping visuals

  • Bold text that answered a real question or called out my ideal client

  • Always synced to the beat or using trending audio

  • Topics tied back to my core pillars: brand visibility, systems, and scaling

The goal isn’t just views. It’s visibility + trust. That’s what brings in clients.

✦ 2. I Knew Who I Was Creating For

Every piece of content I posted was written like I was talking directly to the service provider scrolling during her break.

You have to know:

  • What your dream client is struggling with

  • What they want to hear (but aren’t saying out loud)

  • And what kind of content actually holds their attention

For me, that meant content for high-end brands, medspas, salon owners, and personal brands who didn’t want fluff—they wanted strategy.

I didn’t post “trends.”
I posted content that showed I understood their business, and that I had solutions.

✦ 3. I Stayed Consistent Without Burning Out

Let’s be real—growth comes from refinement, not randomness.
It took 40+ Reels before I had one that took off. But I didn’t stop.

I showed up 3–5x per week for months.
And I created batch days to film Reels in advance so I wasn’t constantly in creation mode.

Once I saw what performed well, I doubled down on that format. I wasn’t trying to reinvent the wheel—I was learning the algorithm and working with it.

✦ 4. I Used High-Quality Content + Repurposed It

Low-quality, cropped, or pixelated content doesn’t perform.
We shoot all of our client content (and mine) in natural light, with clean backgrounds, and intentional framing.

Pro tip: I keep a folder in my phone of my best B-roll and high-quality clips so I always have something ready to turn into a Reel.

Aesthetics matter—especially when you're positioning yourself as the premium option.

And yes, Reels that look good tend to perform better. It’s not just about the message—it’s the delivery too.

✦ 5. I Treated Instagram Like a System

I didn’t just post and pray.

Behind every post was a strategy:

  • Content pillars (Authority | Education | Entertainment)

  • Weekly themes tied to offers or launches

  • A mix of attract, align, and convert content

  • A CTA in stories every day, even on slow weeks

And yes, I tracked everything inside Notion so I knew what was working.

So, Can You Grow on Instagram in 2025?

Absolutely.
But it’s not about trends. It’s about strategy, systems, and speaking to the right people.

If you want to attract aligned followers who turn into actual clients—Reels still work. But only if you’re intentional.
